Here you can find self-care and mental wellness tips and tricks that are science-backed and personally tested. I’m Marissa, the creator and curator of this digital space. I’m thrilled to take on this journey with you, my lovely reader, as we explore mental wellness together.

Who is Marissa?

I’m a recent college graduate with a BA in psychology. I’ve had a strong love for psychology since I was a young tween struggling with depression and self-harm. I experienced a long period where I felt I was lighting myself on fire to show my inner turmoil, no one could understand how someone as young as 12 could be so desperate to exit this life.

As I got older, I learned more and more about anxiety, depression, addiction, self-harm, and the many corners of generational and childhood trauma. I would almost consider myself an expert through experience and learning. But I went to college so I could give myself a strong stance on mental health for myself and those around me who feel unseen as I did.

What is Better by Marissa?

Through this blog, my goal is to share insights that have been instrumental in my healing journey and navigating the complexities of mental health. But- it’s important to note that these insights aren’t exclusively for those facing mental illness – everyone can gain from practicing self-care and prioritizing mental wellness. I am a huge advocate for treating your mental health as you would your physical health. These aspects are essential for all individuals, and I’m here to support YOU in integrating them into your daily routine.
