No matter what kind of week you had, stressful or not, you deserve a weekend of relaxation.

In my opinion, there’s no better way to spend a weekend than doing..basically nothing.

As a child, when I would go to my grandma’s house, my mom would ask what we had planned to do. My answer never failed to be, “Whatever we want to do.” Meaning I was running the show and was in for the best weekend ever.

I’d like you to take on that mindset of little ole’ me, while you take on this weekend of relaxation. Do whatever you want to do.

This post is all about amazing activities for a weekend of relaxation.

1. Go to a coffee shop

Find a cozy local coffee shop to hang out at for a little while. You can bring your laptop, a notebook, or just your favorite book. Get a good drink and relax in the nice environment.

2. Go to a thrift store

I LOVE going to the thrift store when I am looking for something to do. It’s always so exciting when there are good finds.

3. Spend some time on yourself: hair, nails, facial, etc.

If you are feeling the splurge, go out for a facial or a haircut. But, if you aren’t wanting to spend money, you are very capable of having a spa day at home! Get out your steamer and favorite nail polish!

4. Deep clean somewhere in your house

This isn’t fun in everyone’s opinion, but there are times where we can enjoy cleaning out our bedrooms or closets. I love having a random fashion show of all the old clothes you completely forgot you owned.

5. Volunteer or help a friend

Volunteering is an amazing way to spend your time. But, it does usually take a smidge of planning, even if it is just signing up. So, if you find yourself in a pinch, help out a friend with something they need! Helping someone is such a fulfilling way to spend your free time.

6. Try a new recipe

Even if you don’t like cooking or baking, try out a new recipe if you’re bored. Get creative with finding a recipe you can create with what you already have at home!

7. Wake up early and sit outside

This sounds lame, I’m sorry. I genuinely love sitting outside early in the morning and listening to the birds, while I drink my coffee. If this sounds like fun to you, I’m sure it will be worth it!

8. Pick up a new hobby

Hobbies are an amazing way to spend your time. Try to find something new, and I challenge you to find an active hobby!

Some great options are pilates, yoga, hiking, or dog walking (and make some money)

9. Do puzzles, crafts, journaling, scrapbooking

This is basically the same as picking up a hobby but with a focus on crafty hobbies. (Personally my favorite)

You can start small with journaling and work up to more intense activities like puzzles. I guess, they aren’t intense, but if you get upset not seeing things through to the end, puzzles can be very stressful.

10. Garden

Gardening is a great, alone-time hobby for anyone! Plus, it adds some beautiful additions to your yard. Grab your gloves, and a hoe, and get outside.

Whatever you choose to do this weekend, find something you enjoy! Relaxing can be hard but when you are doing something you love, it is a bit more manageable.

I love spending my weekends doing my personal hobbies like blogging and creative writing. These things can seem stressful to others, but they bring me a great feeling of satisfaction.

I GUESS doing activities is not quite considered relaxing, but in this day and age, we need to keep ourselves busy to relax. If we just lay around, truly relaxing, we tend to scroll on our phones and I think that is much more harmful to your relaxation than gardening or journaling will ever be! So even if you are a “bed rotter” like me, take your hobby to bed then. Get yourself set up with a snack and some scrapbooking supplies and you’re set for the next hour or so.

And then….take a nap because sleeping is top relaxation <3
